The African parish priest of a late Cambuslang grandfather jetted from Kenya to walk alongside the man's loving family in support of the Scottish charity that cared for him during his journey with cancer.

Rev Father John Njoroge was among walkers who took part in the Beatson Cancer Charity’s recent Off the Beatson Track event, which raised over £145,000 – the biggest walk the charity has organised.

Rev Njoroge is parish priest in the Kenyan hometown of Matthew Ndungu Kimani, who lived in Cambuslang. The 55-year-old lawyer passed away last year, following a diagnosis of multiple myeloma – a type of bone marrow cancer.
