Police probing serious sexual assault in Port Glasgow

A person has been sexually assaulted in the early hours of Sunday morning in Port Glasgow.Police are probing the serious sexual assault in Barr's Brae near to John Wood Street, around 3.30am today.

The area was cordoned off by police on Sunday as officers stood guard next to one end of the road, near to a railway bridge in the Inverclyde town.

A police car was also parked at the end of the bridge. Police confirmed they had received a report of a serious sexual assault and said enquiries into the incident remained ongoing.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.30 am on Sunday, 13 November 2022, police received a report of a serious sexual assault in Barr's Brae near to John Wood Street, Port Glasgow."Enquiries into the incident are continuing.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here.
