Police in Lanarkshire name second man killed in horror Rutherglen car crash

The family of a man who died in a horror late night car crash in Rutherglen have spoken of their heartache.Driver John Laird was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he died a short time later following the late night roadsmash last Friday, November 18.The 80-year-old's friend and passenger in the car, Michael McManamon, 73, was also killed in the accident.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Mr Laird’s family told Lanarkshire Live “We are heartbroken and shocked at the loss of our much loved John, a husband, father and grandad. "He will be sorely missed."We are comforted by the kind messages from friends and family who knew him well and appreciated all he did for them.”Residents on the street where the accident took place have told of their horror after the tragedy.
