Clyde boss Jim Duffy says their League One fate was always going to come down to Saturday’s clash at Peterhead as the two sides fight to avoid automatic relegation. The Bully Wee’s 2-1 win at home to FC Edinburgh on Saturday – their first in eight games since beating Peterhead 1-0 on February 18 – moved them five points clear of their rivals as they head to the Balmoor Stadium, with three games left.A Clyde win will relegate Peterhead and leave themselves in the play-off slot, but a home victory claws the deficit back to two points with six to play for, and Duffy expects a titanic tussle. He told the Clyde website: “It’s going to be a huge game up at Peterhead, we know that, we understand that.“That was always going to be the case, really, over the last few weeks.“The two of us have been detached pretty much for most of the season, so it was always going to come down to the latter stage of the season, when we met.“Over the last four or five weeks I’ve felt we had decent performances, although the results might not have suggested it, and there has been a little bit more of an understanding about how we want to play, and we’ve benefited from that.“It’s going to be a very difficult match up at Peterhead, there’s no doubt about it – they will be equally as committed as we will be.”Clyde gave themselves a massive shot in the arm as Martin Rennie’s eighth-minute strike gave them the lead against Edinburgh at New Douglas Park.Innes Murray levelled in 29 minutes, but Barry Cuddihy netted what proved to be the winner in 41 minutes to go three games unbeaten.Duffy said: “I think we played very well in the first half, as well as we’ve played for a long time.“We really dominated, and it should have been more than the one-goal
