Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter Lionsgate has landed U.S. rights to “The Home,” a thriller starring Pete Davison. The movie, directed by James DeMonaco (“The Purge”), was backed by Miramax and screened for buyers outside of competition at this year’s Toronto Film Festival.

It’s expected to land in theaters sometime in 2024. “The Home” follows Davidson as Max, a former foster child who begins working at a retirement home, only to discover that its residents and caretakers harbor sinister secrets. “We went into ‘The Home not knowing what to expect and James and Pete delivered an exhilarating ride of a movie that is pure suspense-filled fun and just plain bonkers.

Audiences won’t know what hit them.” Charlotte Koh, Lionsgate’s executive VP of acquisitions and co-productions. The film is written by DeMonaco and Adam Canto.

Bill Block and Sebastian K. Lemercier produced the film. Koh will oversee the film for Lionsgate. Christopher Davis oversaw the deal on behalf of Lionsgate, with CAA negotiating on behalf of the filmmakers.
