Olympic champion Matt Richards is one of the world's leading freestyle swimmers - and he's going for gold on Monday night in the men's 200m freestyle final at the Paris Olympics 2024.

The Welshman was just 18 when he won gold at the last Olympics in Tokyo as part of the men’s 4x200m relay team. Now 21, he's aiming for his first individual Olympic gold medal.

And with him competing in two solo and three relays, hopes are high that he could well return home with multiple medals. He's said: "There is a hell of a lot of medal potential in Paris.

Five would be the most that any Brit has ever won and that has got to be the target." READ MORE: What is in the box given to Paris Olympic medal winners? Cheering him on in Paris will be Matt's fiancee, fellow swimmer Emily Large, 23.
