James Martin has Lorraine in stitches with dig at BBC rival as he admits he's 'scarred for life'

James Martin made a dig at his old home of Saturday Kitchen on BBC One, leaving his guests Lorraine Kelly and Marti Pellow in hysterics.Today's episode of James Martin's Saturday Morning on ITV (August 24) saw him joined by TV icon Lorraine Kelly and ex-Wet Wet Wet frontman Marti Pellow.Wrapping up the show, he collaborated with chef Andres Alamany to prepare an Arnold Bennett omelette for guests, including chef Dipna Anand, using arbroath smokies.

It was while beginning to cook his dish that the 52-year-old chef playfully took a swipe at his previous show, Saturday Kitchen on BBC One. "Over here, we're going to do our omelette", he said as Andreas assisted with assembling the meal, reports the Express.

Jokingly, James mentioned: "I feel like this is the only time I'm ever going to do an omelette and I spent 10 years, on another show, just doing omelettes.""It's left me scarred for life has that damn omelette thing!", adding with a hint of relief, "But I'm not going to rush, there is no timer on this one."Lorraine, Marti, and Dipna couldn't contain their amusement at James' jest, especially as he acted out the "scarred for life" line with dramatic hand gestures.Martin famously led BBC's Saturday Kitchen, which shares a format not unlike ITV's Saturday Morning, prior to stepping down in 2016.
