Liam Gallagher
William John Paul Gallagher (born 21 September 1972) is an English singer and songwriter. He rose to fame as the lead singer of the rock band Oasis in the 1990s and 2000s, and later fronted the rock band Beady Eye in the early 2010s, before beginning a solo career after the dissolution of both bands. One of the most recognisable figures in British music, he is noted for his outspoken and abrasive manner; penchant for wearing parkas; distinctive singing style, in which he elongates vowels; and signature stance on stage, which consists of him holding his arms behind his back and singing up into a downward-facing microphone.

Oasis and Sabrina Carpenter are currently competing to secure this week’s UK Number One single.According to a new update from Official Charts, the American pop star is currently looking likely to secure her second week at the top of the singles charts this week with ‘Taste’ – the latest track from her album ‘Short n’ Sweet’.Not only did the mid-week figures show the latest single leading the way, but her two previous singles, ‘Please Please Please’ and ‘Espresso’ – both of which formerly topped the charts – are close behind.

They are currently in second and third place respectively. However, there seems to be some major competition from Britpop icons Oasis, who are currently seeing various classic tracks storming up the rankings in light of the announcement of their Live ‘25 reunion shows.Following them sharing the news last week, and creating a frenzy among fans when tickets went on sale over the weekend, their song ‘Live Forever’ has jumped from the Number 15 spot to Number 4.If it is to retain this place or move up past some of Carpenter’s tracks, it will mark a new best for the 1994 song, which originally peaked at Number 10 upon its release. With the long-awaited 30th anniversary edition of their ‘Definitely Maybe’ debut album finally arriving last week, other songs are making their way up the ranking too. ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ is now Number Seven on the charts, and ‘Wonderwall’ is just one place below at Number Eight. With the immense hype about the reunion still going strong and hopes that extra tour dates will be added, it seems likely that both Liam and Noel Gallagher will be jumping further up the chart rankings this week.
