Mystery surrounds death of 45-year-old man after body found at home

Mystery surrounds the death of a middle-aged man found dead at home in a Wigan village. Police scrambled to Fern Close in Shevington at 9am on Wednesday morning (August 9) where they discovered the body of a 45-year-old man.

Detectives are still investigating how the man, whose identity has not been revealed, sadly passed away. Officers remain at the scene as GMP probes the death.

We would like to reassure the public that we believe this to be an isolated incident that possess no wider threat to the public and we are doing all we can to understand the full circumstances. “If you live the local area or have travelled near Fern Close in Shevington on Wednesday 9 August in the morning or on Tuesday 8 August and have any information regarding this incident or have witnessed any suspicious behaviour, report this to GMP.
