With the Met Office warning that large parts of England will see temperatures as high as 32C this week, the hot weather alert has been upgraded to amber in Greater Manchester.
While for many workers that may mean you're left sweltering at your desk, it's given me the chance to try out a bargain £1.99 desk fan I bought during our last heatwave. Given the power source and the fact it's only a 4" fan, I wasn't entirely convinced it would do the job. But this little thing is brilliant.
It kicks out a right draft, doesn't take up too much room on my desk and costs just pennies to run for an entire day. Thankfully it's quiet too.
