Mum's heartbreak after 'devoted' father killed in horror motorbike crash with childhood pal

A 'devoted' dad-of-two died after his childhood pal collided with him in a horror bike crash, an inquest has heard. Stephen Beaumont, 33, was riding in a 'staggered convoy' with friend Jamie Southworth and dad Peter Beaumont along Church Road in Trafford on March 20, 2022, when his bike came into contact with Mr Southworth's Trumph Street Triple.

He was rushed to Salford Royal Hospital, where he sadly died the next day. An inquest at Stockport Coroner's Court on Friday (October 6) heard a post mortem examination found Stephen died of a head injury.

In a statement read out to the court, mum Carol Beaumont described her son as 'such a good dad.' "Stephen didn't take risks, he was very sensible," she continued.

Mrs Beaumont described Stephen as 'such a good dad,' who 'loved his children'. "Everything was about the children and providing for them," she said. "The collision turned out lives upside down.
