Frustrated Stirling Albion boss Darren Young acknowledged his side let an important three points slip away after being pegged back by Queen of the South on Saturday.Binos fans leaving Forthbank would have been justified in the view that their side deserved the win after a strong first-half display where Dale Carrick scored his second goal in two games to put Stirling in charge.Queens’ on-loan Hearts keeper Harry Stone pulled off a pair of excellent second-half saves to keep the Doonhamers in the contest – and Paul McKay headed home a soft equaliser to leave the home faithful reflecting on what might have been.The result means an unbeaten record for Stirling across a trio of games earmarked as important for their season ahead of a pair of tussles with League One’s top two sides over the next fortnight.Stirling manager Young was full of praise for his side’s performance in brutal conditions – but aired a familiar tale of woe over his side’s lack of ruthlessness in the big moments.Young said: “We did very well, first half we were outstanding and score a very well-worked goal with managing to get in behind them which was something we spoke about in training.“We were pretty comfortable in the first half and deserved the lead but second half, the conditions played their part and we ended up having to defend a wee bit deeper.“It’s frustrating to concede the goal from a set piece, that’s a disappointing part of it.
