Millions of households told they will get £150 off energy bills this winter from today

The Warm Home Discount scheme has now been launched for 2023 and will see up to £150 get taken off energy bills for those found to qualify for the scheme.
Both pensioners and low-income households will receive the one-off discount which will be applied throughout the winter period until March 2024.
More than three million households will get told they qualify for the Warm Home Discount from today, the government said. Those who qualify in England and Wales will receive a letter explaining the discount and instructions on what they need to do next. Traditional prepayment meter customers will receive a top-up voucher which they can cash in at their local top-up point while smart prepayment meter customers will see the discount applied automatically to their account.
