Met Office says 'good news' on the way after day of strong winds and UK weather warning

The Met Office has teased that 'good news' is on the way after a day of strong winds with weather warnings issued across the UK.

A yellow alert for wind was issued for parts of the UK, with Greater Manchester among the areas covered in the warning until 10pm on Monday (April 15).

Wind gusts of over 50mph were experienced in some areas, along with heavy April showers and hail. The weather alert warned that delays to transport were 'likely', while power supplies could also be affected.
