The Met Office has teased that 'good news' is on the way after a day of strong winds with weather warnings issued across the UK.
A yellow alert for wind was issued for parts of the UK, with Greater Manchester among the areas covered in the warning until 10pm on Monday (April 15).
Wind gusts of over 50mph were experienced in some areas, along with heavy April showers and hail. The weather alert warned that delays to transport were 'likely', while power supplies could also be affected. Blustery showers, with hail and thunder already in the north spreading to all parts during the afternoon. Feeling colder than of late, with gusty winds.” However, on Monday afternoon, forecasters said that 'good news' was on the way for this coming weekend (April 20-21), with high pressure set to bring much warmer and drier conditions to the UK.
