Meghan Markle allegedly copyrighted the name Lilibet prior to her daughter's birth in June 2021, a royal expert has claimed.
The Duchess of Sussex, 42, welcomed daughter Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor on 4 June 2021 with husband Prince Harry, 39.The couple named their baby daughter after Queen Elizabeth II, whose nickname had been Lilibet.
It's since been claimed that the late Queen was "angry" over the use of the name as well as Harry and Meghan's claims that they sought permission from Her Majesty at the time.
In Robert Hardman's new biography, Charles III: New King, New Court, The Inside Story, it's claimed: "One [aide] privately recalled that Elizabeth II had been 'as angry as I'd ever seen her' in 2021 after the Sussexes announced that she had given them her blessing to call their baby daughter 'Lilibet', the Queen's childhood nickname." According to the Daily Mail, the late Queen also told her aides: "I don't own the palaces, I don't own the paintings, the only thing I own is my name.
