Manchester Airport says most passengers waited less than 15 minutes at security last month

More than three million passengers passed through Manchester Airport in August - and just two per cent of them waited longer than 15 minutes to get through security.

The airport's managing director said today it had 'delivered one of the best summers ever for our passengers'. Chris Woodroofe spoke out after summer 2022 was punctuated by problems and frustration for many holidaymakers.

There were also reports - and pictures - of passengers abandoning their luggage after long waits at baggage reclaim halls following return flights.
