Manchester United missed out on a bargain deal for Arsenal-bound striker Benjamin Sesko back when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in charge.
The Slovenia forward is now reportedly valued at around £45million but was identified as a top target by former United boss Solskjaer.
Sesko, 21, was also turning heads at Red Bull Salzburg during Solskjaer's tenure at Old Trafford, but the United hierarchy disagreed with the Norwegian's position that the young forward would be worth the risk.
As reported by The Athletic (via the Daily Express), United's board discussed signing him but ended up vetoing Solskjaer's proposed move for Sesko, who could have been signed for a paltry £2.5million at the time.
