Manchester City star Phil Foden has left England's Euro 2024 camp and returned to the UK due to a "pressing family matter". A statement from the Football Association on Wednesday said: "Phil Foden has temporarily left the England camp and returned to the UK for a pressing family matter.” It is understood he is returning home for the birth of his third child.
The 24-year-old - voted Premier League player of the season - played 89 minutes in England’s goalless draw with Slovenia in their final Euros group game on Tuesday evening.
He has started each of England’s three matches at the tournament so far and it is unknown when he is expected back in Germany. The Three Lions will either play the Netherlands or the third-placed team from Group E containing Belgium, Slovakia, Ukraine and Romania.
