Lucy Spraggan has revealed she was raped during her time on the X-Factor back in 2012.The talented singer-songwriter quickly became a household name after appearing on the talent show thanks to her witty lyrics and relatable personality.She has recently released a memoir about her life, called Process: Finding My Way Through, in which she detailed the horrific ordeal of her sexual attack from a hotel porter whilst filming for the singing competition.The Mirror reports that the now 31-year-old said the incident happened after a night celebrating fellow contestant Rylan's 25th birthday at a London nightclub.

Lucy explained that she passed out and was taken back to the hotel by a member of the production team, where a hotel porter offered to help get Spraggan to her room.The porter then flipped the security latch on her door as they left to prevent it locking behind them.Later in the evening, Rylan went to check on Lucy and made sure her door was locked.

And because of this, when the porter came back to attack her, he had to use a hotel keycard to enter the room. Lucy told The Guardian : "I woke up the next day with this sense of sheer dread.

I don’t think I’ve ever felt that level of confusion since. I knew that I’d been raped, but I could not process that. So I put my clothes on and went into autopilot." Lucy believes the production team were not prepared to deal with the incident, despite calling the police quickly.
