ITV news anchor Lucy Meacock gave a simple six word message as she ‘bowed out quietly’ after presenting her last ever Granada Reports tonight (August 1).
Earlier this week the presenter told viewers she was 'bowing out', after finishing an epic 36 years on Granada Reports during the 'saddest of weeks'.
This evening’s show, which was Lucy’s last, focused on paying tribute to the three girls killed in the horror stabbing in Southport on Monday (July 29).
As it drew to a close, Lucy said with a sad smile: “That is it from me goodbye”. In response her co-anchor Gamal Fahnbulleh turned to her and said: “Lucy Meacock thank you for everything.” READ MORE: Mosques urged to strengthen security ahead of Friday prayers over 'far-right thugs' Viewers were quick to wish Lucy well and praised her ‘dignified’ farewell.
