Labour has committed to renewing the nuclear deterrent based on the Clyde.Keir Starmer has said that his party will renew Trident, with the Labour leader committed to building four new nuclear submarines.He has also pledged to maintain the UK's continuous at-sea deterrent and promised to carry out all upgrades needed for the submarines in the future.

The main base for nuclear submarines is at Faslane on the River Clyde. It directly employs thousands of people.
