King Charles is particularly fond of one cocktail which he enjoys drinking before bed, according to a close friend of the monarch.

Count Tibor Kalnoky says a martini is the 74-year-old sovereign's favourite cocktail.The Romanian nobleman shared the revelation on the Channel 4 documentary 'The Real Windsors: The Outspoken Heir'.He claims that Charles even takes a special glass with him for when he travels abroad to drink his cocktail before bed, the Express reports.The monarch is particularly fond of visiting Romania and even owns a small countryside house there.Count Kalnoky helped Charles source the property in Transylvania, Romania, in 2006 and the relationship between the two men blossomed into a strong friendship.He told the Channel 4 documentary: "He likes a Martini before dinner, that's for sure."The Martini, which is a classic cocktail made with gin and vermouth, usually comes garnished with an olive or lemon twist.However, it's just one of the King's favourite alcoholic beverages as he is also partial to a gin and tonic, according to close friends.One source said previously: "He'll take booze on royal tours with him so that he has always got something he likes to drink."It's quite strange behaviour, but for Charles, it just makes sense."King Charles' wife Queen Camilla also shares his love for drinks and even serves as the president of the UK Vineyards Association.At the association's 50th anniversary reception, the now Queen said: "People always ask me how I became involved in it all, well first of all I love wine."But, secondly, my father was in the wine business, so I was brought up as a child drinking wine and water rather like the French."
