King Charles and Queen Camilla currently look set to miss the society wedding of the year as they have reportedly not confirmed their attendance at Hugh, Duke of Westminster's upcoming wedding to Olivia Henson.
Suggestions that Their Majesties may not attend have been contrasted to when they previously declined an invitation to the wedding of the Duke's elder sister, Lady Tamara Grosvenor, back in 2004.
Lady Tamara married the King's godson, Edward van Cutsem, at Chester Cathedral - the same venue for this year's wedding. At the time, Camilla, then known as Parker Bowles, was informed she would not be able to sit with Prince Charles and would need to sit several rows back and arrive separately.
According to Richard Eden at MailOnline, a source revealed: "Their Majesties have not forgotten what happened at the wedding of Hugh's sister.There is still a lot of tension that exists." Royal author Sarah Bradford revealed that Queen Elizabeth II was annoyed at how the situation unfolded and informed her son that things couldn't carry on as they were.
