Issa Rae
Jo-Issa Rae Diop (born January 12, 1985), known as Issa Rae, is an American actress, writer, director, producer, and web series creator. She first garnered attention for her work on the YouTube web series Awkward Black Girl. She subsequently gained further recognition for creating, co-writing, and starring in the HBO television series Insecure. For her acting work on Insecure, she has received two Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

Keke Palmer and Her Big Bosses Label Partner With SRG-ILS Group

Jem Aswad Executive Editor, Music Actor-singer-songwriter Keke Palmer and her Big Bosses Entertainment imprint have partnered with the SRG-ILS Group, which is distributed by Universal Music’s Virgin Music Group, the companies announced on Tuesday.

Palmer’s first release under the new partnership will drop in early summer. Palmer, an Emmy Award-winning actor, singer-songwriter, producer, author and television host, founded Big Bosses with Sharon Palmer and her longtime music manager, Billy Clark, in 2017.

Since debuting her first studio album “So Uncool” in 2007, Palmer has released three mixtapes, one compilation album, and four Eps, as well as a second studio album, “Big Boss,” last year.

A companion visual album received an NAACP Award nomination for Outstanding Direction (by Palmer). Palmer first rose to prominence through her role in “Akeelah and the Bee” at age 12, and has gone on to star in more than 25 films and 30 television shows, including Jordan Peele’s acclaimed film “Nope,” Roadside Attraction’s “Alice,” which she also executive produced, STX’s “Hustlers,” Fox’s “Scream Queens” and Nickelodeon’s “True Jackson, VP.” She also hosts a podcast, “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer” for Wondery/Amazon, and founded her own digital network, KeyTV.
