That surprise turned out to be a follow-up to her chart-topping ‘Espresso’. Produced by Jack Antonoff, ‘Please Please Please’ sees Carpenter begging a lover not to prove her doubts rights: “Please Please Please / Don’t prove I’m right / Please Please Please / Don’t bring me to tears when I just did my makeup so nice“.The singer also went on to release an accompanying music video directed by Bardia Zeinali and features her boyfriend, BAFTA award-winning actor Barry Keoghan.Elsewhere during her set at Gov Ball, the singer created a new ad-lib for her track ‘Nonsense’ which has become a tradition for the song’s performance.
