Jermaine Jenas was 'cocky' when he met his stunning wife - who he calls his 'rock'
ok.co.ukBBC presenter Jermaine Jenas has been dropped by the corporation, following claims of inappropriate behaviour.The former footballer, who regularly appeared on The One Show and Match of the Day, was swiftly taken off air, with the BBC saying: “It followed allegations involving digital communications such as texts, which were raised with the corporation a few weeks ago." A BBC spokesman added: “We can confirm that Jermain Jenas is no longer part of our presenting line-up.” Away from TV, 41 year old Jermaine enjoys family life with his wife Ellie Penfold and their children in a stunning £1 million mansion in Hertfordshire.The couple, who married in 2011, have had their share of ups and downs.
Despite being instantly smitten, Jermaine faced an uphill battle to win over Ellie. In an interview with the Belfast Telegraph, he confessed that Ellie initially found his 'cheeky' charm and flashy Ferrari more off-putting than attractive.
She even laid down the law early on. Jermaine revealed: "She's been a rock keeping the family going through tough times. It was love at first sight when I saw her, but not for her.
She wasn't impressed by this cheeky, cocky guy who thought she'd be bowled over when I drove up in my Ferrari. She actually made me get rid of the car because it was too noisy!" He continued, explaining how Ellie helped him 'grow up', saying: "She's told me she thought when we first met that I was a bit of an over-confident idiot, but I won her over finally.
