A body has been found in the search for Brit teen Jay Slater who disappeared on holiday in Tenerife nearly a month ago, Spanish authorities have confirmed.A spokesman for the Civil Guard said on July 15: “After 29 constant days of searching the lifeless body of the young man has been found in the Masca area.

The discovery has been possible thanks to the tireless and discreet search carried out by the Civil Guard over these 29 days.“Everything is pointing to the body being that of the young British man who disappeared on June 17, pending full identification.

Initial inquiries are pointing to him having suffered an accident/fall in the area where he was found.”The tragic discovery was made on Monday morning by Civil Guard officers from the mountain rescue division, with evidence so far indicating he had died "due to an accidental fall in the rough and inaccessible area where he was found".Authorities issued the major update bringing an end to the four-week search for the missing 19-year-old, who vanished on Monday, June 17.The apprentice bricklayer had been at a techno festival with friends when he travelled to an Airbnb with two British men where he stayed the night.

The teen reportedly left in the morning and told pal Lucy Law he was making the gruelling 11 hour trek back to their hotel with no water and low battery on his phone. This sparked a two-week search of the mountainous area he was last known to be but was called off by Spanish copsA GoFundMe page was also set up to help the search by best friend Lucy and raised funds above £50,000, which his mum Debbie said would be used to fund the mountain rescue teams and the family's extended stay on the island.
