People who use iPhones have been urged to check their devices to ensure that an urgent update has taken place. The update is the latest of the tech giant's "Rapid Security Responses", which looks to fix any bugs that hackers might try to exploit. As reported by the Mirror, the smaller upgrades allow Apple to keep your device safe in between major iOS releases. As Apple explains: "Rapid Security Responses are a new type of software release for iPhone, iPad, and Mac."They deliver important security improvements between software updates — for example, improvements to the Safari web browser, the WebKit framework stack, or other critical system libraries."They may also be used to mitigate some security issues more quickly, such as issues that might have been exploited or reported to exist in the wild."The update will automatically be rolled out to iPhones running the latest iOS 16.4.1 software.

If necessary, they may prompt you to restart your device. If you don't yet have the latest iOS, you can go to Settings > General > Software Update to get your device up to date.If you want to make sure that you don't miss any of these security updates you should check your settings to make sure they are occurring automatically. On an iPhone or iPad: Go to Settings > General > Software Update > Automatic Updates, then make sure that "Security Responses & System Files" is turned on.
