After graduation the wannabe actor was awarded a scholarship to train at the London Academy of Music and dramatic Art.There, he did some work with the Royal Shakespeare Company and found himself collaborating with a number of esteemed playwrights.The actor, whose character has finally married Trixie Franklin, played by Helen George, 39, in the latest season is clearly born to play a lothario well - he was born on Valentine's Day.
Olly joined the cast of the BBC hit series in season 10, in 2020, with his character meeting Trixie for the first time when she was delivering his newborn son.
Following the death of his wife, Fiona, Trixie supported him through his grieving process and the pair developed a close bond.This is when viewers realised that Matthew had strong feelings beyond friendship before the characters finally married at the end of series 12.
