A man is having to travel 1,200 miles every three weeks from the UK to Germany in order to have cancer treatment. Jack Watts, 31, from Kettering, Northamptonshire, thought he needed to see an optician after he began experiencing blurred vision at work and having “pressure headaches”.
But his symptoms turned out to be stage four glioblastoma, a deadly type of brain cancer. The police officer is now being driven back and forth by his partner for treatment, setting him back £26,000 a trip.
Doctors discovered a tumour in the middle of Jack’s brain which is so aggressive they were only able to carry out three weeks of chemo and radio therapy before running out of treatment options.
