Parents claim they have been left hundreds of pounds out of pocket and desperately searching for childcare in the summer holidays after a south Manchester nursery closed with just a few hours notice.

They say they have been left with nowhere to turn after Kids 1st Steps in Burnage reportedly entered insolvency and shut with immediate effect on July 30.

Parents and staff members told the Manchester Evening News they found out by an insolvency accountant posting a letter on the nursery's app at 7pm that night.

Parents say they have been left 'abandoned' and claiming they had already paid hundreds of pounds worth of August fees and are now being forced to fork out more in order to find different childcare arrangements over the holidays.
