'It's not working...we tried' - Restaurant that issued 'cry for help' is forced to close after opening in wrong spot

The founder of cult burger restaurant Almost Famous has announced the closure of one of their sites. In an update shared on social media this evening owners said they had a 'sad' update to share as they confirmed the closure of their Withington location.

They shared that after trying to make it work it wasn't 'busy enough' and was 'dragging' them down. Almost Famous opened its Withington restaurant in May 2023 on the site of the Old District Bank and briefly The Libertine pub.

Owner Beau Myers decked the place out much as he has with the brand's other locations in the Great Northern Warehouse and Edge Street in the Northern Quarter. Sadly, in May - just a year after opening - the owner of the much-loved burger concept was forced to issue a message on social media admitting that the venue was 'struggling'.
