After noticing a lump on her four-year-old child’s chin, like any mother, Carolyn Wright sprung into action. Apart from the unusual swelling on Jenson’s face, Carolyn described him as a typical child “running around the place” and in high spirits.
Having taken her son to A&E in Warrington, Carolyn never expected that her perfectly healthy child would soon be hit with a cancer diagnosis. “In October 2013, I noticed a lump on the bottom of Jenson's chin - he had not long started school.
We took him straight to Warrington A&E and were asked to come back the next day to see a consultant because the doctors were a little unsure of what the swelling was. They did a biopsy on it and by the end of the week, that’s when we found out our son had been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. “It was strange because he was sitting well, there were no other signs than this lump on his chin, he was a typical four-year-old running around the place.
