Love Island already has a UK star in Joey Essex, but it's getting a global one next - with a rap legend joining the show. US superstar Eve, known for 2001's Let Me Blow Ya Mind with Gwen Stefani, has been signed up by producers to perform in the villa, The Sun has revealed.
A source told them: "Eve's a fan of the show so jumped at the chance to perform. She's a pop legend and the islanders will go wild when she performs in the villa." Each year, Love Island producers attempt to outdo themselves by signing up bigger and bigger stars to perform on the show.
Previous acts have included Craig David and Wes Nelson, who faced the awkward prospect of having to perform in front of his ex Arabella Chi.
He later insisted he was focused only on the performance, during which the former lovers didn't acknowledge each other in any way, saying: "'I was not thinking about an ex for one minute." Eve, 45, rose to fame in the late 90s with hit singles including What Ya Want, Love Is Blind and featured on Missy Elliott's single Hot Boyz.
