House prices might be slowing down across the UK, but unfortunately for tenants, rents are still on the rise. According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), house prices are now only a “little changed” from a year earlier, but rent costs have seen another 'record rise'.
A recent ONS report says that private rental prices have now risen by 5.7 percent across the UK in the last 12 months up until September.
This represents the biggest annual percentage change since records started in January 2016. Across Greater Manchester, renters are continuing to bear the brunt of these increases as the cost to rent a home throughout the region remains considerably high.
