A man has been jailed after he tried to smuggle MDMA and cocaine into Creamfields music festival. George Chapman was stopped at the gates of the Daresbury festival as he tried to get in on Thursday, August 25, 2022, Cheshire Police reports.

Officers searched him and found a stash of pills and a snap bag of white powder. The 25-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs.

He was released under investigation as tests were carried out. READ NEXT: Police issue mugshot of man wanted on recall back to prison After the drugs were revealed to be MDMA and cocaine, Chapman was subsequently charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs in April 2023.

He pleaded guilty and was jailed for three years at Chester Crown Court yesterday (June 13). Police said his 'ignorance' landed him with the jail term.
