The winners face a glamour showdown with Aston Villa, with the added incentive for the Hibees of a stunning reunion with former star John McGinn.997 tickets for the game on Thursday at the 16,800-capacity Swissporarena have been allocated to the Leith outfit after Hibs managed to secure an extra 200 briefs, although many more are expected to travel for the tie.
Luzern fans have built up an unwanted reputation in recent years due to several unsavoury incidents in their country. Their fans were banned from attending a recent derby with St Gallen due to repeated clashes between the fans of both clubs. However, that didn't stop a couple of thousand of their fans travelling to St Gallen anyway and buying tickets for other sections of the ground where they caused mayhem with pyros and disruptive behaviour.
And in May, there were riots between Luzern fans and St Gallen supporters before their meeting in the Swiss Super League. Now the police authorities of Lucerne have taken the highly unusual step of informing the 220,000 population of Lucerne and the surrounding district that they will close all police stations to concentrate on maintaining order on the streets when Hibs visit.
