Livingston boss David Martindale has thanked Hearts for loaning them Michael McGovern after the goalkeeper was recalled by the Tynecastle club. The 39-year-old former Northern Ireland international joined the Lions on loan until the end of the season due to injuries to Shamal George and Jack Hamilton.McGovern played five times for Livingston this season, his final game being a 4-2 Scottish Cup quarter-final defeat at Celtic on March 10.However, his loan agreement has been brought to an end, as the former Norwich City and Hamilton Accies keeper returns to the Edinburgh club.Martindale told the club website: “Michael came in at a time when we were really struggling with no available first-team goalkeepers, due to injuries picked up by both Shamal and Jack.“With both keepers back to full fitness and available for selection again, Michael has returned to Hearts for the remainder of the season.“I want to thank Michael for his time at Livingston and his professionalism whilst here.“Seeing him working on a daily basis to the standards he sets made it very evident as to why he has had such a prolonged career at the top level.” Don't miss the latest news from the West Lothian Courier.
