It’s official: George Miller returns to the Croisette for the world premiere of his latest “Mad Max” saga. Deadline reports that “Furiosa” will open the 2024 edition of the Cannes Film Festival on May 15.

Engines will rev and roar in the wasteland once more in May when George Miller’s “Furious: A Mad Max Saga” finally his theaters. The film, starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, is a prequel to the events of “Mad Max: Fury Road” and a new trailer has dropped.

Charlize Theron is happy to welcome Anya Taylor-Joy to the family. In an interview with ET's Nischelle Turner, the 47-year-old actress revealed how she feels about Taylor-Joy taking over the role of Furiosa in the upcoming prequel film of the same name. «I met her years ago and I haven't really been around her at a function or anything like that,» Theron said of if she's spoken to Taylor-Joy about the part. Though they haven't communicated just yet, Theron said she «can't think of a better actress» to take on the part in the film, which will focus on Furiosa's origin story.«I think she's going to be totally OK.

Anya Taylor-Joy keeps putting herself in dangerous situations. Earlier this year, she battled Vikings alongside “The Northman” and her latest movie, “The Menu,” finds her caught up at a dangerous destination restaurant that isn’t necessarily what it seems.
