A much-loved firefighter, who served within the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) for more than 27 years has died.
Alister Lee, 54, was a watch manager based atCheadle Community Fire Station in Stockport. Over the years, he also worked at Moss Side, Stockport, Stretford and Altrincham fire stations.
In a post on X - formerly Twitter - GMFRS said it was 'deeply saddened' by Mr Lee's death. Tributes later flooded in describing him as an 'excellent firefighter' and 'all round good bloke'. Group Manager and Family Liaison Officer Pat Johnson, who served with Alister at Moss Side between 1998 and 2001, said: “Alister was an incredibly well-respected officer who will be deeply missed by friends and colleagues.
