It is likely to be a damp start to the Bank holiday weekend - but some sunshine is expected between the rain and cloud. Overnight rain and morning drizzle has made it a wet beginning to Saturday.
And Met Office forecasters say there is the likelihood of it remaining wet and miserable for much of Saturday. But Sunday is likely to be largely dry with sunny spells and it is likely to be much warmer.
And there could be further sunny spells on Monday, yet there is the chance of more showers. READ MORE: 'You can get two pints in here for what they're charging at Co-op Live' After a showery start to the day, a further band of rain is expected to move westwards and pass over most of Greater Manchester later this morning (Saturday), although the downpours are likely to be light.
This should clear by lunchtime but could linger longer in some northern areas of the region such as Bolton, Wigan and Rochdale.
