Good Morning Britain has been hit with Ofcom complaints after a tense exchange between hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley and their guest - MP George Galloway. The presenters interviewed the politician following his success at the Rochdale elections.

The ITV show received 66 Ofcom complaints after the episode that aired on April 30.The show saw the controversial MP state that Susanna and Richard hadn't done their research before having him on the show. The interview came after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak delivered a speech on the steps of 10 Downing Street calling George Galloway's victory with a 5,697 majority "beyond alarming." The Prime Minister said in March: "It's beyond alarming that last night, the Rochdale by-election returned a candidate that dismisses the horror of what happened on October 7, who glorifies Hezbollah and is endorsed by Nick Griffin, the racist former leader of the BNP." Appearing on the ITV breakfast show last month, Susanna asked Mr Galloway which of the statements made by Mr Sunak about him were wrong, prompting a heated clash.

Galloway said: "I don't dismiss the horror of what happened on October 7th, it's completely baseless. I don't glorify Hezbollah and I wasn't endorsed by Nick Griffin." Richard then asked him about his support for Saddam Hussein and questioned his 'mistakes'.The presenter said: "Everybody makes mistakes, I'm just wondering if you look back at your political career, if that was one of them?" Galloway quipped back: "I've made lots of mistakes but not that one, that jibe doesn't quite have the sting it used to have." He then added: "Congratulations for getting it right." Challenging George again, Susanna said: "You won't answer questions about a few weeks ago and you won't.
