A warning sign was put up outside a Manchester city centre skyscraper hotel today after reports of falling glass. Police attended the Hilton Hotel at the Beetham Tower, on Deansgate, earlier on Monday afternoon.

Video footage circulating on social media, posted just after 2pm, captured what appeared to be pieces of glass scattered across the pavement and road outside - and captured the sound of passing cars crunching over them.

It's understood a pane of glass on the hotel's façade broke, with the footage showing a panel several storeys up. There were no reports of any injuries. "Workers were on site making repairs." The M.E.N.
