Glasgow market 'evacuated' as firefighters race to tackle car blaze

A fruit market in Glasgow has reportedly been evacuated during a blaze this morning.Emergency services are currently responding to the incident at Blochairn Market on Blochairn Road in the Alexandra Park area of the city.An eyewitness told our sister title, Glasgow Live, that the market has been evacuated as firefighters tackle the flames.It is understood a car is currently on fire in the area.The eyewitness said: "There's a car fire at Blochairn Market.

No one was in the car, the market has been evacuated. There's two fire appliances and it just happened in the last 30 minutes."Footage from the scene shows firefighters tackling the blaze, with smoke seen coming out from the vehicle.A cordon is also in place.
