Gary Neville has slammed Manchester City midfielder Rodri for his moment of "madness" during the victory over Nottingham Forest this weekend.
City were cruising against Forest as Phil Foden and Erling Haaland put the Blues 2-0 up inside 14 minutes at the Etihad Stadium.
However, the dynamic of the match shifted shortly after the restart when the Spanish midfielder was involved in an altercation with Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White.
Rodri was seen pushing his opponent near his throat and was shown a straight red card. Pep Guardiola was furious with his player after the game and claimed he needed to learn to control his emotions better on the pitch. "Rodri is a wonderful player, a leader for Manchester City and I don't know what he was doing on Saturday," he explained, "it was absolute madness and I can see why Pep Guardiola is furious with him.
