Fundraiser for Christmas killer victim as community support family of Rutherglen gran

A fundraiser has been set up to support the family of a Rutherglen gran who was murdered just days before Christmas.Ann Coll was found with serious injuries at her property on Newfield Place in the South Lanarkshire town at around 12.45am on Friday, December 22.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.The 61-year-old was a mother to three and grandmother to eight, described as someone who "touched the hearts of all around her".A murder investigation into her death was launched following a post-mortem and police are now hunting for her killer after describing the incident as a “violent attack”.Detectives said her family are "absolutely heartbroken and devastated" as they made a plea for help with the investigation outside Ann's flat on Friday, December 29.

A GoFundMe page has been launched just hours later to help the family, with an initial target set for £3,000.Family friend Teigan Hay wrote: "We are looking to raise funds on behalf of Kris, Nicola, Stephanie and all of their family following the tragic death of their beautiful mum, Ann."Ann was a much loved mum, gran, sister, auntie and friend and was adored by all that knew her.
