East Kilbride are in talks with former Motherwell and St Mirren defender Richard Tait about a move to the Lowland League.The 33-year-old was released by the Buddies last week and Kilby are hoping to entice the experienced full-back to join the club for their SPFL promotion push.Tait will join up with Mick Kennedy's squad for training next week, with a view to potentially signing for the club ahead of the Lowland League campaign kicking off on July 22.Lanarkshire Live Sport understands Tait has held initial discussions with Kennedy and his assistant Simon Ferry, and the duo will seek to complete a deal when he returns from a week-long trip to Nottingham.Kilby will return to K-Park for pre-season training tonight for their first session under the new management team.Kennedy has been hard at work since his arrival in April and he has 15 players signed up so far for their crack at the title, with the first signings due to be announced in the next 24-48 hours.Kennedy said: "We have 15 players signed so far and I would imagine by Friday, certainly by the weekend, our squad will be complete."The benefit of Si and I is that we have contacts across all levels in the country.

There will be some League One players coming in, some League Two players and we'll tap into me being in the West [of Scotland League with Darvel] last season."The core average of the squad will be about 24 or 25."We are getting there, we are just trying to get a few things over the line.
