Florence Welch rushed in to life-saving surgery after cancelling shows
ok.co.ukMuch-loved vocalist Florence Welch has opened up on the life-saving surgery she was forced to undergo last week after having no choice but to cancel some of the shows of her Dance Fever tour.The Florence and The Machine frontwoman explained to her 2.2 million Instagram followers today (Sunday 27 August) that she'd gone under the knife for a health concern she wishes to keep private for the time-being.
In the post, the continued: "I'm so sorry that I had to cancel the last couple of shows. My feet are fine, I had to have emergency surgery for reasons I don't really feel strong enough to go into yet, but it saved my life. "And I will be back to close out the Dance Fever tour in Lisbon and Malaga. (Maybe not jumping so much but you can do that for me) [heart emoji]".
The 36 year old 'You've Got The Love' singer added: "Suffice to say I wish the songs were less accurate in their predictions.
But creativity is a way of coping, mythology is way of a making sense." Chart-topper Florence then cryptically added another message, which she hoped would be understood by her devoted fans. "And the dark fairytale of Dance Fever, will all its strange prophesies, will provide me with much needed strength and catharsis right now." Last weekend, the singer cancelled her performances at Zurich's Open Air Festival, as well as Rock en Seine, in France, revealing that "on medical advice", she was forced to remain at home.
