Five people are set to lose their jobs when a popular tourist attraction closes later this month. The visitor centre at Cream o’ Galloway near Gatehouse will close for good on September 17.
It comes with the sale of the Cream o’Galloway ice cream brand, which will continue to be produced, currently under way. A statement from owners Wilma and David Finlay said: “We have made the very difficult decision to close Cream o’ Galloway visitor centre.
Our final day will be Sunday, September 17. “Cream o’ Galloway ice cream will continue to be made on the farm, however, this will be under new ownership once a sale of the business concludes.
Cream o’ Galloway was launched almost 30 years ago.
