Expert weighs in on Gordon Ramsay's weight loss strategy that saw him shed four stone

A nutrition expert has sounded a note of caution for those keen to emulate Gordon Ramsay's weight loss strategy.The celebrated chef has previously revealed that he dropped nearly four stone by exercising and eating smaller meals five times a day, rather than three large ones.

On The Today Show, he shared his approach: "I'm very good at eating five times a day, but small amounts as opposed to big breakfast, big lunch and big dinner. "There's nothing worse than eating dinner at 5:30pm and then having to get up and cook for three hours.

I like to keep on my toes and eat small bits." The culinary star, 57, recommends drinking a couple of glasses of water before a meal, suggesting it helps curb the appetite, reports the Daily Record.

Despite the counterintuitive notion that more frequent meals could aid in weight loss, dietitian Tami Best explains the potential benefits. "Eating smaller more frequent meals can be a good strategy to accomplish weight loss for some," she said.
